現在世界で最も人気のあるベースアンプブランドの1つであるMarkbass。
彼らが優れたベースアンプメーカーであることは周知の事実ですが、優れたギターブランドでもあります。
こちらは価格を抑えながらも優れたクオリティを実現するGLOXYシリーズの逸品。
PUレイアウトはJBっぽいですが、ボディシェイプはPBっぽいですね。
ネックは30万円前後の価格設定がされるJPシリーズと同じものを使用。
また、プリアンプに関してもMarkbass謹製のものが搭載されており、そうした意味でパフォーマンスは非常に高いと言えるでしょう。
生産は中国ですが、全ての個体はイタリア本社にてハイエンドラインと同様の品質検査が行われています。
まず感じるのは演奏性の高さです。
非常にスムースな弾き心地で、ある意味JBらしくないポイントかもしれません。
PUはJBスタイルのシングルコイルを二基搭載。
ポジションはフェンダーの70年代のデザインをモチーフとしています。
サウンドについてはMarkbassらしさを感じる、レンジが広くとられながらも倍音豊富でシルキーな感触。
意図してオーガナイズされたものだと思います。前述した70sスタイルの配置だからこそ、通常よりもタイトな質感が含まれることも特徴的。
Markbassファンにはもちろん、価格を抑えながらも演奏性とサウンドには妥協したくないミュージシャンにはぜひ試していただきたいです。
