Xoticは日本人ビルダーであるHiro MiuraさんがLAで興したブランドです。Chuck Rainey、Rhonda Smith、Travis Carltonなど多くの有名ミュージシャンがXoticを愛用しています。
XTB-1Tは2025年に登場した新モデルです。
初回生産分に続いて確保しました。サウンドメッセ展示品でもあります。
見ての通り、OPBをモチーフとした一本。
ボディはAsh、指板はMapleとクラシックな木材構成です。
カラーはBurguandy Mist、塗料はLacquerを使用して美しく仕上げられています。
さらに、Heavy Aged加工でまるでヴィンテージのような風合いに。
チューニングマシンはHipshot Ultralite、ブリッジは同じくHipshotのStyle Bです。
シンプルなブリッジを使用している点が、個人的にはとてもマッチしているように思います。
ポジションマークはLUMINOVAの蓄光タイプで、暗いステージでも見やすい配慮が素敵。
フレットはJescarです。
PUはオリジナルで、定評のあるXotic謹製プリアンプが合わせられています。
一般的にはパッシブのイメージが強いOPBですが、極めてナチュラルな質感のXoticプリアンプはその魅力を損なわないままに、より高い利便性と、音の拡張性を追加しています。
現代のベースらしくとても弾きやすく、そしてOPBらしい音の太さを存分に感じさせる素敵な新作です。
