柳宗悦 民芸の主唱者 東京生 民衆的工芸の意から「民芸」の語をつくり、 富本憲吉・浜田庄司・河井寛次郎と共に民芸運動を総括 また宗教思想に沈潜して美と宗教の世界を深めた 雑誌『工芸』を創刊 昭和36年(1961)72才没 芹沢銈介 1895年 静岡市に生まれる 1916年 東京高等工業大学（現・東京工業大学）卒業 1929年 国画会展に「紺地蔬菜文壁掛」（杓子菜文）を初出品、国画奨学賞受賞 1939年 初の沖縄滞在。紅型の工房に通うとともに、沖縄の風物に深い感銘を受ける 1956年 重要無形文化財保持者（人間国宝）に認定 1967年 静岡市名誉市民 1976年 文化功労者となる、フランス・パリの国立グラン・パレで大規模な個展「芹沢銈介展」が開催 1981年 静岡市立芹沢銈介美術館開館 1984年 逝去（享年88歳） |
