ショスタコーヴィチの交響曲第7番は、1942年3月29日のプラウダ紙上で“私は自分の第七交響曲を我々のファシズムに対する戦いと我々の宿命的勝利、そして我が故郷レニングラードに捧げる”とショスタコーヴィチが宣言したことにより「レニングラード」と呼ばれています。人々を鼓舞するかのような力強い主題、金管の咆哮、悲痛なアダージョ、勝利を宣言するかのようなフィナーレなど楽章は起伏に富み、指揮者、オーケストラの見せ場も多い名曲中の名曲です。今回、リリースされるこのアルバムは、2016年2月11日と12日にミュンヘン、フィルハーモニー・イン・ガスタイクで録音されました。ヤンソンスの指揮は、この曲が書かれた“破滅的な時代”を鮮烈に描きだすと同時に、彼自身の深い共感も込めることで、作品に20世紀の最も重要な交響曲としての新たな命を吹き込んでいます。 (C)RS
