イサムノグチの代表作の一つでもあるコーヒーテーブル。ウォールナットカラーの木脚×19mm強化ガラス製。
製作から60年以上経った今でもこの斬新かつ魅力的なデザインが多大な支持を得ています。
■デザイナー イサムノグチについて。
1904年。ロサンゼルス生まれ。コロンビア大学に入学し、医師を志すかたわらレオナルド・ダ・ビンチ美術学校で彫刻を学ぶ。奨学金を授与されると、パリへ渡り留学生活を送る。その後、北京、日本と渡る。1947年にハーマンミラーのデザインディレクターであったジョージ・ネルソンに請われ「ノグチ・テーブル」を発表。世界を代表する偉大な日系アメリカ人彫刻家。 2004年に生誕100周年を迎え、今なお当時の魅力的な作品が続々と復刻され話題となっている。
