福岡県生まれ。1976年、評論『透明人間の定理 リラダンについて』で、幻影城新人賞評論部門に入選。’85年からは本格的な作家活動を始動し、凄絶なスプラッタ・ホラー作品とユニークなSF作品を次々と発表。熱狂的なファンを数多く獲得している。また、映画評論家としても名高い。『漂流家族』『殺人の勧め』『爛れ』『暴虐の痴図』『蔵の中の鬼女』『邪神の呼び声』『死の影を追って』『黒の女王』『闇の王国』『髑髏町の魔道師』『怪物団』『色魔』など電子オリジナル作品も多数発表している。映画評論、特にホラー／スプラッターの分野で活躍し、各映画誌に寄稿している。
