解説
「ＺＯＭＢＩＯ／死霊のしたたり」、「フロム・ビヨンド」など数々のＢ級ホラーを生み出した、ＳＦホラー専門映画会社エンパイア・ピクチャーズ。その創立者であり、“８０年代Ｂ級映画の帝王”と呼ばれたチャールズ・バンドの監督デビュー作。忌わしき過去の悲劇により狂気の錬金術師に狙われることとなった娘レノーラを襲う恐怖をオカルトチックに描く。
感想
１９世紀末、アンナは恐るべき錬金術師デルガトーの呪いによって夫アーロンに殺される。
８０年を経て、アンナと瓜二つのレノーラは何者かにとり憑かれアンナの墓へやってくる。
そこにはデルガトーの術で不老不死の化け物にされたアーロンがいた。墓地裏の異空間にはデルガトーがゾンビを作り、レノーラを再び餌食にしようと狙っていた・・・んー・・・ゾンビ物と言うよりオカルト映画になるのではないのか！？。ゾンビらしきものは出てくるけど、別に人を襲って食べてるとかではないし悪夢を見ているような展開が続く辺りは、やはりオカルト風味かも。邦題に「ゾンビ」の文字を入れたら売れた時代だったのかも知れないですね。もう２０年以上も前の古臭い作品なんで、内容のチープさは仕方ないですがバンドの作品にしては珍しくまともでした。
