『山賊ダイアリー』は、漫画家でありながら猟銃所持許可・狩猟免許を持つ作者自身の経験を描いた実録風漫画です。
この作品では作者が現役の猟師である事から狩猟に関する事が分かり易く詳細に描かれています。
免状を採る事から始まり道具を集めて狩猟に赴き、獲った獲物を解体して調理し、実食してそれがどんな味なのか等が詳細に描かれています。
狩猟方法も猟銃を使う一般的な猟銃を使う狩猟から罠で獲物を捕獲したり、川や海で釣りをしたりと、食べられる動物がいる所では何処でも行って何でも食べちゃいます。
採る獲物はイノシシ・鹿・キジ・ヒヨドリ・ハト・カモ等のイメージし易いものから、カラス・スズメ・マムシ・すっぽん・天然うなぎ・ブルーギル・コジュケイといった馴染みはあるけど食べる対象として観ない様なものまで、色々な獲物が出てきます。
※作中ではイノシシの肉が美味しいらしく、鹿はあまり人気が無いそうです。
都会に住んでいればイノシシやキジなんてまず食べる事がない食材ですが、だからこそ知らない事を知るということは面白いなぁとこの作品を観ていて気付かされます。
言うならば本格的な山遊びの指南書とも言えるかもしれません。
山遊びが好きな方は勿論、自分が知らない事に対して知識や見識を広げる事が好きな方にはお薦めです。
