2丁裏から半丁毎に
一人につき一句、短評付（句は、原則五・七・五の三行書き）
芭蕉を筆頭に、守武、宗鑑、望一、貞徳、貞室、立圃、重頼、季吟と続いていく。百人目は麥林。康工の句は96番目にある。

跋文（『俳林百一集跋』とあり）の最終行に
天保八（1837）丁酉正月写之
とあるから、「寶暦十四（1764）年」の本をこの年に書写した模様。
【因みに】『俳諧百一集』には板本がある。
大妻女子大学図書館の解説に依ると
大本一冊。俳諧画像集。越中の八椿舎康工編画。宝暦14(1764)年５月自序、水竹散人跋、明和2年(1765)4月、京都・橘屋治兵衛刊。書名は「百人一句集」の意。左の写真【画像10参照】は芭蕉像と「古池や」の発句およびその短評を付した部分。巻頭の芭蕉以下、康工自身も含めて俳人百人を選び、その像と秀吟一句を付し、さらに短評を添える。
とある。してみれば、八椿舎（尾崎）康工（1701-1779）は絵師のようである。
【参考】この『俳諧百一集』は多くの図書館に所蔵されている。
板本は、前掲の他にもう一種あるようで、そこに描かれる肖像のタッチが明らかに違う。
写本は大きく分けて三種（肖像は無し）。
一つは半丁に一人一句（三行書き）短評付のもの。
二つ目は半丁に複数分の、一人一句短評付。
三つ目は、名前・句は一行、短評に分かれているものの、ぎゅうぎゅうに詰めて記されているもの。
※全体的に、経年によるくすみ、汚れあり。
※経年による紙の劣化、変色、斑点状の染み、虫食い多数あり。
