1981年（昭和56年）より製造販売しています。むさしの磯の本バレンは江戸期の製造方法に則り制作しています。本当皮は、和紙60枚を3～4ヶ月かけて張り最後に絽の布を張ります。仕上げに漆を4～5回塗り出来上がりです。漆が乾いたら1年程寝かせてあげます。木型に和紙を張り始めて木型から外すまでに2年程かかります。バレン芯は皮白竹をよって制作しています。追伸 竹皮を巻くときにはきつく巻きすぎないように、摺る時に当皮を少しずつ回しながら使いますので。
