沖縄・琉球放送による“沖縄のミュージシャンが子供たちのために一生懸命新しい歌を作り続けるプロジェクト”『おきなわのホームソング』CD第８弾。2011年９月放送の「ウザガク お城の音楽隊」から2012年７月放送の「うちなー弁当まーさんどー」までの楽曲と各曲のカラオケを収録。
子供たちのために大人が一生懸命作った "うた" をお届けする番組「おきなわのホームソング」。
沖縄出身・在住、そして沖縄を愛するアーティスト達がジャンルの垣根を越えて手を組み、新しい "うた" を次々と誕生させています。沖縄のみの放送ですが、沖縄県内の認知度は確固たるものとなり、間もなく8年目を迎えます。
現在までに誕生した曲39曲。1つの県において、これだけのうたが継続的に誕生しているというのは画期的です。
