－ブーレーズは[1]を複数回録音していますが、意外にも[2,3]は初録音でした。－ブレーズはDGに1980年代初頭 Ensアンテルコンタンポランとストラヴィンスキーの小編成の合奏曲や歌曲などを録音していましたが、1991年からクリーヴランド管とシカゴ響で3大バレエを中心とした3枚のアルバムを発表し、精密の極致ともいうべき演奏で驚かせました。ベルリン・フィルとのこの録音がDGへの最後のストラヴィンスキーとなりました。
