Welcome Back！！「レッツ・ステイ・トゥギャザー」でお馴染みの、ハイ・レーベルを代表する大スター、アル・グリーンが極上の新作アルバム『アイ・キャント・ストップ』を引っさげて復活！ しかもプロデュース＆アレンジに、あのウィリー・ミッチェルを迎えての録音で、まさに黄金コンビの復活！！ 熱心なソウル・フリークのクエンティン・タランティーノ監督が、映画『パルプ・フィクション』の中で「レッツ・ステイ・トゥギャザー」を印象的に使用した事によって、お馴染みディック・デイルの「ミザルー」や、クール＆ザ・ギャングの「ジャングル・ブギー」と共に、日本でも再び広く知られるようになったアル・グリーン。60年代からソウルをひっぱって来たこの大スター、否が応なく注目を集めそうですが、何とjazzの名門ブルーノートから発売です！ あのヴァン・モリソンがブルーノートに移籍してアルバムを出したり、何だか最近のブルーノートって、ベテランR&B系アーティストの受け皿になっているような・・・。素晴らしい事です！ ウィリー・ミッチェルと言えば、アル・グリーンの才能を見出した、ハイの素晴らしいプロデューサー。アルの魅力の1つでもある、ホッジス3兄弟とドラムのハワード・グライムスを加えた“ハイ・リズム”の、切れがありながら、ゆったりとしたイナた～い演奏。そして、メンフィス・ストリングスとコーラスが控えめに花を添えたサウンドは、その時代、その土地でしか生まれ得なかった素晴らしいサウンドなわけですが、今回のアル・グリーンの新作も、見事なまでに、その往年のアルを感じさせるサウンドと楽曲が揃ってて、ソウルファンなら、笑みがこぼれてしまうこと間違い無しです！ アルはずいぶん前に、牧師となってゴスペル・シンガーに転向してますので、今回の新作は、レーベルもブルーノートということで正直ちょっと心配でしたが、もう1曲目の「I can’t stop」から「レッツ・ステイ・トゥギャザー」を彷彿するような素晴らしいソウル・ナンバーが並んでいますので、ご安心下さい！
