全英2位、全米1位に輝いたザ・ローリング・ストーンズの『刺青の男』が発売から40周年を記念して、拡張版マルチ・フォーマットで新装リリース!
新たにリマスターされたこのアルバムには、同時期にレコーディングされた9曲の未発表トラックが追加収録される。
『刺青の男』の40周年記念エディションには、「ハング・ファイアー」、(ジャズ界のサクソフォンの大家ソニー・ロリンズをフィーチャーした)「友を待つ」、そしてもちろん、発売以来、バンドの代表曲の1曲となった「スタート・ミー・アップ」などを含むアルバムのオリジナル11曲のリマスターが収録されている。2CDには、『ロスト&ファウンド:レアリティーズ』が収められている。
『ロスト&ファウンド:レアリティーズ』には、アルバムが最初にリリースされた当時に作られた楽曲が9曲収録されている。それらの曲は新たにバンドがヴォーカルやギターを追加して仕上げている。「リヴィング・イン・ザ・ハート・オブ・ラヴ」もそのような曲の1つで、典型的な当時のストーンズのロック・ナンバーとなっている。ここでは元気なギター・リフと極上のピアノをフィーチャーした、彼らの一流の演奏を楽しむことができる。
また、この『ロスト&ファウンド:レアリティーズ』には、バンドのブルース・ヒーローの一人であるジミー・リードが1963年にレコーディングした「シェイム、シェイム、シェイム」のとびきりのヴァージョンと、ドビー・グレイの珠玉のソウル「ドリフト・アウェイ(明日なきさすらい)」の彼らの解釈によるカヴァー、そして「スタート・ミー・アップ」のレゲエ風のヴァージョンも収録。
