『At Storyville』は、1951年10月、テナー・サックス奏者のスタン・ゲッツが創造力の絶頂期にいた頃を捉えています。もちろん、ゲッツの音楽が晩年のオリジナリティに欠けていたというわけではない。しかし、このライブは、ゲッツの80年代や90
年代初頭のリリース(彼は1991年に亡くなった)の一部で失われた若々しい意欲と音楽的な熱意を特徴としている。エネルギー
と活力にあふれたジャズの巨人を聴くのに勝るものはありません。ゲッツの演奏は冷たく、時には過度に孤立しているという
