サーカスの象ジャンボの元にコウノトリが運んできた神様の贈り物。
その子象の名前を“ダンボ”といいました。
ところがあまりにも大きすぎる耳のために、
芸をしてもからまったり踏んづけて転んだりと失敗ばかり。
笑いものにされるダンボを母は愛情いっぱいに抱きしめるのでした。
しかしダンボをいじめた人間に怒り暴れた母は檻の中に閉じ込められてしまいます。
そんな悲しむダンボを力づけたのは、ねずみのティモシーでした。
ある日、ティモシーはダンボは空を飛べるかもしれないと思いました。
カラスたちと共に空を飛べる“魔法の羽”をしっかりと握りしめたダンボは、
勇気をふりしぼり、崖から飛び降りるのでした・・・。
