てんこもり。シャフラノフの新作を聴いて最初に浮かんだ言葉だ。なんたって選曲がスゴイ。ロジャース＝ハ
ートにI・バーリン、ジョビンにH・シルヴァーにB・パウエル、あげくはショパン。スタンダードにジャズ・
オリジナルにクラシック。そのどれもこれもが名曲揃いと来たもんだ。しかし、それが見え見えの「名曲大
全集」ではなく、かなり渋いところでまとめられているのが憎い。また、そういう行きかたというのが彼の
イメージとぴったりくるのも事実だ。ひどくへんな譬えだけど、シャフラノフのピアノには鼻歌みたいなところ
がある。気軽で心地よくて、いい意味で力が入っていなくて。そう言えば、ヴィレ、ビーストとのトリプル・ビル
で初来日コンサートを開いたときも、「役者が違う」風情で見事なまでのマイペースを感じさせてくれたものだ。
ジャズ演奏をCookingと称するけれど、全く良い料理人がいたものだ、と思う。
