トーレ・ヨハンソン・プロデュースで話題になった『グッド・ユーモア』から2年。ベルリン録音、独アンダーグラウンド・シーン人気アーティスト{トロロココロト}との共同プロデュースの新作。ドイツのTo Rococo Rotとのコラボレーションを含むベルリン録音の新作が到着。デビュー当時の派手なポップ・テイストはかなり影を潜め、かわりに電子音と生楽器のデリケートなバトルが何とも不思議な陶酔感を呼ぶ静かな一枚に仕上がっている。特に美しい展開を重ねながら9分間にも及ぶ(9)は圧巻で、まさに音の桃源郷の域。ふう、溜息出ちゃう。ストリングスと木琴アレンジで参加のショーン・オハーガン(ハイ・ラマズ)も当たり前だけどメチャいい仕事してます。蛇足になるけど、彼らの新作ってことで、嬉しくって資料もアルバム・タイトルもチェックせずにテープを聴き始めました。すっかり1音1音の微妙な揺れや響きに酔いしれて、最後に「まるで電子の海の底を散歩してたみたいだったなぁ……」なんてロマンティックな独り言を言いながらタイトルに目をやって“オオッ!”なんて勝手にビックリ&納得した次第(笑)。本当に緻密で美しい一枚です。
