現代クラシック・ピアノ界の鬼才(奇才)、9月に76歳を迎えたヴァレリー・アファナシエフが、ベートーヴェンがその生涯に残した最大のピアノ曲「ハンマークラヴィーア・ソナタ」を録音。音楽上の師エミール・ギレリスが最も得意とし、名録音を残している同ソナタについて、どうしても自分の解釈を残しておきたいと切望し、万全のコンディションで臨みました。ベートーヴェンのピアノ曲はアファナシエフの音楽的なルーツであり、これまで18曲の録音を残してきました。しかし第29番「ハンマークラヴィーア」については、過去に演奏会で取り上げたことはなく、今回の録音が初演奏。長年作品を研究してきただけあって、楽譜の隅々にまで行き届いた慧眼は驚くべきもの。 (C)RS
