ヒアルロン酸やコラーゲンと共に潤いを支えるタンパク質の一種で、美容と健康維持に欠かせない成分です。 年齢と共に、潤い成分やキレイを維持する為に生まれ変わる美容サイクルをサポートする働きが不足すると、乾燥をはじめ、印象年齢で気になるトラブルにつながると言われています。
北海道産のサケの鼻軟骨から抽出したタンパク質と糖鎖(グリコサミノグリカン)が共有結合した複合糖質の一種です。
「上皮細胞増殖(成長)因子」と呼ばれ「EGF様作用」という機能があることが弘前大学により確認されました(特開2008-247803)。EGFは人の肌にもともと存在するタンパク質の一種です。
このEGFは肌の細胞を増やしたり、成長させたりする美容への大きな機能を果たしていますが、実は20代後半から急激に減少し始めて、40代になると20代の1/2~3、70代では20代の1/6にまで減少すると報告されており、このため年を重ねるごとに新陳代謝や細胞の再生能力が衰えると考えられます。
こうしたEGFの減少は細胞の再生能力を低下させ、ターンオーバーを遅らせて肌老化の原因となります。
