聖フローリアン・ライヴ！
ヴェルザー＝メストのブルックナー第5番といえば、1993年にウィーンでおこなったライヴの実況盤が有名ですが、
今回登場するＤＶＤは、2006年にブルックナーの聖地、フローリアン大聖堂でおこなわれたライヴを収録したものです。
ロンドン・フィルを指揮したくだんの1993年盤は、キリリと引き締まった造形と、情熱のたぎる激しい演奏ぶりによって賛否両論を巻き起こし、そのおそるべき迫力もあって、ブルックナー好きに新鮮な刺激を与えてくれたものでしたが、今回はそれから13年という年月の流れもあり、かつまたオーケストラの機能が極上、ホールも極上ということで、さらなる期待を抱かずにはいられません。
