コバノズイナは、アメリカ東部を中心に分布するズイナ科ズイナ属の落葉性低木花期の5月～6月になると、枝先にブラシ状の花序を出し、小さな花を多数咲かせます
耐寒性、耐暑性に優れており、丈夫な性質です。
樹形も自然にコンパクトにまとまり、育てやすい花木です。
冬になると葉を落とし、春になると新しい芽を枝につける落葉低木です。
