○江戸時代に幕府が各藩に種を奨励したことから「御種人参」と呼ばれるようになります。
○古来より大変貴重で、薬用または薬食用に用いられ、元来「人蔘」と呼ばれて薬草だった。
○古くから薬効が知られ珍重されたが、その栽培は困難で、日本の長野県・福島県・島根県などが3大産地として知られた場所であるが、近年、日本での栽培面積が急速に減少し国産品は非常に貴重です。
