寒雀[かんすずめ]（福良雀）[ふくらすずめ]全身の羽毛を膨らませている様から「福良雀」 ともいう。
寒雀は季語にもなっている。
・大寒の頃の雀で、ふとって、やけに元気に見える。そんな ところから冬の季語になったらしい。
・羽根の下に食糧を携えて年を越すという縁起の良いことの例えにもなっています。ふくら雀…家紋・文様の一つ。雀が羽をのばした姿を図案化したもの。
女性の髪の 結い方の一。
唐人髷（まげ）を変形したもので髷を、左右に二つつくる。

1912年大正元年、父の与之助（二代目、五郎助の次男）より分家し五条坂に開窯
清水六兵衛（五代目六如）に師事して研鑽

1961年昭和36年 五条坂に生まれる
師 父（2代目）・叔父（3代目）に師事
1992年平成04年 4代目を襲名
1995年平成07年 大徳寺塔頭瑞峯院前田昌道老師より吉峯窯の窯名を賜る
