【DESCRIPTION】
サザンのパーカッショニスト、
毛ガニこと野沢秀行が組んだプロジェクト、
JAPANESE ELECTRIC FOUNDATIONの唯一のアルバム。86年作。
サザンが活動を休止し、KUWATA BANDがツアーを行っている時に制作。
中心になっているのは、大滝詠一らとのセッションから
美乃屋セントラルステーションに至るまで幅広い活動をしていた
ベーシストの六川正彦、後にCOSA NOSTRAを結成する西麻布の
ラント・スタジオのオーナー、DJ・桜井鉄太郎。
そこにサザンの松田浩や大森隆志、
関西の天才キーボードプレイヤー・小島良喜、
EPOやサロンミュージック、桑名春子、
H2Oの中沢堅司らのボーカル陣と、多彩な顔ぶれが参加。
多重録音の鬼才、トッド・ラングレンで始まり、
67年のバッキンガムズの大ヒット、
68年の全米1位のレモンパイパーズの「GREEN TAMBOURINE」、
締めくくりがストーンズへのメッセージとも言えるオリジナル。
まさにエレクトロニクスを駆使して、
60年代からのポップミュージックの総括を試みたような壮大な選曲。
オリジナルのライナーには桑田佳祐が賞賛の文も。
デジタルとアナログにより、KUWATA BANDと対をなしている
80年代半ばのモニュメントとなる作品。
