もう30年前くらいに BLUE NOTE から大量に出ていたコンピ盤の1つですが、今聴いても全く古さを感じさせないっつーのは実際オドロキ以外の何者でもありません。それだけ MPB というジャンル自体がエヴァ―グリーンな輝きを宿していることの証左でもあるでしょうが、もうちょい後の“ランバダ”ブームやなんかとはエライ違いです。まぁランバダにはランバダなりの存在意義があったんでしょうが…プログラムを一瞥するだけでも、リラやヴァーリやエサ、ジルベルト・ジル、ジョルジ・ベン、エドゥ・ロボとまさにそうゝたる面子が楽曲を提供(?)しており、そのクオリティの高さも宜なる哉です。ラテンらしい熱量を保ちながらもクールでグルーヴィ―最高っすね!!
