1875年にコルト・ファイヤーアームズ社が
開発した米軍の拳銃弾。
1892年、アメリカ陸軍に正式採用。
コルトM1892などの回転式拳銃に使用され、
米比戦争では、モロ族との戦闘で実践投入された。
この流れは、より威力の強力な
45ACP弾へ受け継がれた。
