商品解説■──池袋線に導入された当時の20000系10両編成とHID試験車の8両編成を製品化
西武20000系は、従来の主力車両101系の後継車として1999年から製造された20m4扉アルミ車体の通勤型車両です。
自社線内専用車として前面貫通扉がなく、大型1枚ガラスを採用するなどの特徴があります。
6000系6050番台車と同様のアルミ車体ながら、新しい車体構造を採用したことにより、製造工数の削減・低コスト化・車体強度の向上などが図られています。
2005年度までに140両余りが製造され、10両編成と8両編成が活躍しています。
