新型米陸軍のECWCS 第三世代（ジェネレーション3）は7種類のトップスと5種類のボトムから構成された、様々な気候やシチュエーションに対応したレイヤリングシステムです。迷彩は米陸軍最新の（OCP）Scorpion（スコーピオン迷彩）です。
スコーピオン迷彩は、米政府との契約の下にCrye Precision社が開発したもので、2002年頃に米陸軍のObjective Force Warrior（OFW）計画に採用されました。
後にCrye Precision社はこのスコーピオン迷彩を基に改良しマルチカムを開発したため、スコーピオン迷彩とマルチカムはよく似ているのです。
陸軍上層部は、スコーピオンW2迷彩とマルチカムの間には違いがあると断言しています。
マルチカムとの比較から言えるスコーピオン迷彩の特徴は、「薄いベージュと濃いブラウンの斑点が少ない」そして「縦方向の枝状の模様が無い」ということです。
このLevel 6はEXTREME COLD WEATHER (極寒/雨など湿った気候)に対応したジャケットです。
生地は防風・防水のGORE-TEXを使用し、軽量性・コンパクト性にも優れています。
ジャケットのエリはフードが収納でき、胸元のジッパーは貫通式のベンチレーションになっています。
単体での着用はもちろん、Level 3のスリースやLevel 7のアウターで防寒性を高めたり、組み合わせで様々な環境でレイヤリングが出来きます。
コンパクトに収納できるので携帯するのに便利な為、レインウェアや軽量性を重視したアイテムに使われてます。
