集英社新書 『 教室内(スクール)カースト 』 鈴木翔「なぜ、あのグループは教室を牛耳っていて、このグループには“はしゃぐ権利"すら与えられていないのか……」。「スクールカースト」とは、主に中学・高校のクラス内で発生するヒエラルキーのことで、小学校からその萌芽は見られる。同学年の子どもたちが、集団の中で、お互いがお互いを値踏みし、ランク付けしていることは、以前から指摘されており、いじめや不登校の原因となるとも言われてきた。ステイタスの決定要因としては、人気やモテ度、運動神経などがあり、上位から、「１軍・２軍・３軍」「イケメン・フツメン・キモメン」などと呼ばれるグループに分断され、グループ間交流はほぼ行なわれなくなる。
