1940年ロサンジェルス生まれ。1961年ウィグモア・ホールで国際的なデビューした、スティーヴン・コワセヴィチ。
それ以来、ベートーヴェン弾きとして注目され、ロンドンを本拠に演奏活動を開始しました。
1965年にコリン・デイヴィスと共演した『皇帝』が評価を決定づけ、1967年にニューヨーク・デビュー。
バルトークのピアノ協奏曲第2番の録音はエジソン賞を受賞 。
さらに、リチャード・ロドニー・ベネットのピアノ協奏曲の献呈を受け初演しています。
コワセヴィチのベートーヴェン演奏は、感情を音楽の流れに乗せ、ストレートな表現を聴かせます。
