季節にごとに変わる絵などが人気の一つ。うしろ姿の舞妓さんや兎、「無上尊」のご朱印ではお地蔵さんなどバリエーション豊かなラストがひとつひとつ心込めて書かれています。〈證安院について〉
嵯峨野巡りの土産物の店の並ぶ中、白壁の土塀に囲まれた證安院は昔から「さつき寺」として有名です。山門の正面に誓阿上人の『南無阿弥陀佛』の名号石、本堂には雲に乗った来迎阿弥陀仏三尊仏をまつっています。浄土宗京都教区嵯峨組寺院27カ寺のひとつでもあり、観音様は洛西三十三カ所の第十六番札所になっています。寺宝として、お釈迦さまの涅槃図、浄土宗の名僧、山崎弁栄聖者筆の『無上尊』の額などがあります。二尊院や祇王寺を越えて、化野念仏寺に向かう道すがらに證安院はあります。小倉山のすそ野に竹林や田畑が広がるこのあたりは、昔はうっそうとした竹藪ばかり。昼間でも薄暗くて、ちょっと恐ろしいような場所でしたが、今では休日ともなると嵯峨野めぐりを楽しむ若者や、観光客で、さながらメインストリートのような賑わいをみせます。
