◆南京鉋の用途は『指物家具等の彫刻部』や『椅子の曲線部』などの、反転の多い複雑な曲線のある削り仕上げに使われています。
◆曲面を削る鉋はどうしても下端の刃口部分が普通の鉋に対し、磨耗しやすいので軽く握り使用します。
◆主に椅子の脚の曲線の削り出しなど、曲線部分の削り出しに使うそうです。
