安彦良和原作のヒロイック・ファンタジー『アリオン』の劇場版アニメ化に際して1986年にリリースされたオリジナル・サウンドトラック。
音楽は、先にリリースされたイメージ・アルバム『風・荒野』同様に久石譲が担当。『風・荒野』では、時に前衛的とも取れそうな
アレンジ／サウンドが飛び出してきましたが、本作においては、エスニックなエッセンスを織り交ぜつつ、壮大にして叙情的な
メロディをしっかりと聴かせるより王道サントラ然とした仕上がりとなっています。昔は重厚な本編に対し「浮いとるなー」と頭を
抱えたED曲“ペガサスの少女”も、今改めて聴き直すとこれはこれでオツな味わいで悪くないかもと思えるようになりましたよ。
