2018年に韓国でデビューし、韓国でリリースした10th Mini Album『GOLDEN HOUR : Part.1』が、米・Billboardのメインチャート「Billboard 200」にて2位、さらにオリコン週間アルバムランキングで1位を獲得するなど、グローバルな人気を誇る韓国の8人組ボーイズグループ「ATEEZ」。
先日7月1日(月)には、7人組ボーイズグループ「BE:FIRST」とのコラボによるBE:FIRST X ATEEZ ‘Hush-Hush’をリリースしたことも記憶に新しい。
そんなATEEZが、10月2日(水)に日本で4枚目となるシングル「Birthday」をリリースすることが発表となった。
今作の表題曲「Birthday」は、今作の日本オリジナルシングルのために書き下ろした作品で、ユニバーサルミュージック移籍後初のリリースとなった前作「NOT OKAY」以来、約7か月ぶりとなる。
今作「Birthday」のリリース発表日となった本日7月16日は、2022年にATEEZが日本で初となる単独ライブを行った記念すべき日で、日本のATINY(ファンの総称)との”バースデー”でもある。
そんなATEEZの日本で4枚目となるシングル「Birthday」に収録される楽曲は各形態共通で、表題曲「Birthday」のほかに日本オリジナル楽曲2曲に各楽曲のInstrumentalを加えた、計6曲が収録される。
