インドに暮らすインシアは、両親と祖母、弟と暮らしている。/父親は、権威的で、母親に暴力をふるうこともしばしば。/インシアは、歌手を夢見てギターを弾き、自分で曲を作っていた。/父からは叶わない夢にうつつを抜かすなと厳しく歌を禁止されていたが、母はインシアを応援しており、ある日父親に内緒でノートパソコンを買い与える。/そこでインシアは、母の提案もあってブルカで顔を隠してYOUTUBEで自分の歌う姿をアップする。/するとその歌声はたちまちインド中で話題になり、新聞やTVまでもが、“シークレット・スーパースター”の話題で持ちきりとなる。/自分の歌声が響き、たくさんの人に聞いてもらっていることに喜びを感じるインシア。/しかし、テストの成績不振から父にギターを壊されてしまう。/さらに、ノートパソコンが母のネックレスを売ったお金で買ったことがバレてしまい、父親の命令でノートパソコンを自ら壊す羽目に。/そんな時、有名ではあるが若干落ち目の音楽プロデューサー、シャクティが彼女を見つける。/インシアは学校にも親にも内緒で、彼女を支えてくれる友人・チンタンの助けを得てシャクティに会いに行く。/最初にシャクティから渡された曲は全くインシアに合わない曲だった。/上手く歌うことのできないインシアをみて、プロデューサーたちはがっかりし、諦めかけていた時、インシアはシャクティの昔のバラードを歌いたいと願い出る。/そこで歌った彼女の歌声が全員の心を掴んだ。/しかし帰ってきた彼女には大きな障害が立ちはだかっていたのだった…・・。
