フランクには自慢の4人の子どもがいた。NYに住むアーティストのデヴィッド、シカゴで広告会社の重役を務めるエイミー、デンバーに住むロバートはオーケストラの指揮者、ラスベガスのショーで活躍するロージー。妻を亡くして初めて、大人になった子ども達と自分が疎遠になってしまった事に気が付いたフランクは、再び家族の絆を深めようと週末にバーベキューを計画する。が、子ども達はみな各々に理由をつけてドタキャン・・・。そこで、自分が子ども達を訪ねて驚かそうと、NY、シカゴ、デンバー、そして、ラスベガスへと旅を開始。子ども達は仕事で成功して幸せに暮らしていると信じていたフランクだったが、久しぶりに会った彼らはそれぞれ問題を抱えていることを知る・・・。しかも、それをフランクに隠しているようだった。彼らの素っ気ない態度に、縮まる事のない心の距離を感じるフランク。しかし、実は彼らにはどうしても父に伝えられない秘密があった・・・。
