アフガニスタン ヘラート産のマシュワニキリムです。マシュワニ族という部族が手織りしています。彼らの得意とするスマック織りという技法は、複雑な織り技術を要するため難易度が高く、希少で日本ではあまり出回っていません。
毛足のない麻のような肌触りのキリムと、パイル地の絨毯部分を合わせもった凸凹のある絨毯で、幾何学的なデザインが美しく、踏み心地も大変良いです。
規則的に連なったひし形のデザインで、明るいところでみると黄色っぽくも見えますが、黄土色やこげ茶色のウール糸を使ったベージュ系のベースカラーです。
ラグとしてはもちろん、軽いので壁掛けして飾ることもできます。小さく折り畳めて持ち運びしやすいためキャンプやピクニックシーンにもおすすめです。
