シューマン(1810-1856)の2つの交響曲を周到で木目細やかなアントニオ・パッパーノの指揮で。最初に収録されたハ長調の交響曲第2番は、1845年から1846年にかけて、当時精神状態が不安定だったシューマンが、長い時間をかけてさせた壮大な作品。また第2番より前の1841年に作曲された「第4番」も収録。パッパーノは弦の美しさと木管楽器の繊細な響きを極限まで引き出し、シューマンらしい音楽を創り上げている。自身が音楽監督を務めるサンタ・チェチーリア国立アカデミー管弦楽団を率いた2012年/2010年ローマ録音。 (C)RS
