神奈川県横須賀市に生まれる。東京都立芸術高校を経て１９９１年に国立音楽大学に入学。１９９３年、同大学を退学し、パリ国立高等音楽院に入学。１９９７年、同音楽院クラリネット科を首席、および、レオン・ルブラン特別賞を得て卒業。１９９８年、同音楽院室内楽科を卒業し、帰国。１９９５年、第６回日本木管コンクール第２位。９６年、第４回日本クラリネットコンクール第２位。９７年、第２２回トゥーロン国際音楽コンクール第３位、第５３回ジュネーヴ国際音楽コンクール・ディプロマ受賞。現在、NHK交響楽団クラリネット奏者。東京音楽大学非常勤講師。
・Ｎ響のクラリネット奏者・松本健司のソロ・デビュー・アルバム。ピアノが横山幸雄という豪華なもの。単純なパワーや気合いという意味ではなく、松本の演奏には良い音楽をしようという創造的エネルギーがあふれている。今後が楽しみだ。さすがに伴奏は抜群。
