スタンリー・ジョーダンというギタリストの演奏の真骨頂は、この無伴奏のソロであると感じます。私は他にライブ盤と「フライングホーム」、アリスタレコードからリリースの「ボレロ」を聴きましたが、やはり何と言ってもギター１本のこれが素晴らしいです。タッピングという奏法をここまでの次元に引き上げたのは、本当に画期的で、エドワード・ヴァン・ヘイレンが創めた時には、ここまでの表現力を持つ演奏法だとは想像も出来ないことだったのですが、彼のアイデアと信念、そして努力・・・まさに神業を具現化したのです。しかしその神業ゆえにはっきりとしたフォロワー的な存在は現在でもいないのでは？ギターという楽器の歴史を語る上で、スタンリー・ジョーダンの名は不可欠だと思います。このアルバムは本当に１発録りのような臨場感と気合がなんとも言えない世界を醸しています。美しく、きらめきのような旋律・・本当にエレキギターなのかと驚嘆の連続です。
