常緑高木
【商品情報】
モッコクは7ｍ程度の常緑高木です。葉は皮質のシャモジ型で十分光が当たる場所では赤く色づきます。花は7月ごろに黄色い2ｃｍ程度の芳香がする花が咲きます。秋になると赤い実がなり鳥が寄ってきます。葉が光沢があり、樹形が美しいため昔から庭園や街路樹に利用されてきました。
【育て方】
日向を好みますが日陰でも育ちます。適湿で肥沃な土壌でよく育ちます。放任しても比較的に樹形が整います。
