1963年に米国イリノイ州シカゴで結成されたブルース・ロック・バンド “ポール・バターフィールド・ブルース・バンド”の、70年に日本のみでリリースされた日本独自のコンピレーション・アルバム。
本盤は、デビュー・アルバム『The Paul Butterfield Blues Band』から3曲/セカンド・アルバム『East-West』から3曲/サード・アルバム『The Resurrection Of Pigboy Crabshaw』から3曲/4作目『In My Own Dream』から2曲/5作目『Keep On Moving』から2曲 ほか全14曲で構成。
初期のオリジナル・バンド・メンバーは、ポール・バターフィールド(vo, har)/マイク・ブルームフィールド(g)/エルヴィン・ビショップ(g)/ジェローム・アーノルド(b)/サム・レイ(ds, vo)/マーク・ナフタリン(org) の6人編成。
