工場にて金型で抜かれた材料が、自動研磨機にて刃付けされます。中国等で大量に安価に生産されつつあります。
本品は古来から伝わる日本独自の火造り技術を忠実に守って手付けしています。
真っ赤にあかめた軟鉄とハガネを硼砂と鉄粉を混合した接着剤を媒体としてハンマーで鍛接・鍛造します。
熟練した職人技術の言葉で表わしがたい温かみと心地よいあま切れの快感とが手に伝わってくるはずです。
