突き詰めると内部構造で使い分けるCranking
オリジナルＨＰＦクランクは、ボディ内部にいくつもの革新的な技術を詰め込み、バルサ以上の超ハイピッチなアクションレスポンスと、フラットサイド最大の弱点であるキャスタビリティを克服した、トータル性能の優れたＮｏ.1フラットサイドクランクである。
ただ、唯一の「クセ」とも言えるのが、スイム時にカバーに当った際に、時としてメインウエイトが尾部に転がり、その結果引き起こる大きなヒラ打ち。逆にこれを使いこなすと、イレギュラーなエスケイプアクションと、リップ付きハードルアーでは不可能とされていたボトムから水面に向って、ヒラヒラと浮上する動きでリアクションバイトを誘発できる。しかし、その特徴的な動きもバスのコンディションによってはマイナス要素にもなりうる。
スペック2ではボディ内部の金型を一新し、ウエイトを固定式に変更。カバーに当った際にも大きなヒラ打ちはせず、ストラクチャーから離れない、安定したリトリーブで攻めることができる。また、サイレント仕様なのでラトル音を嫌うナーバスなバスの反応も良い。
さらに、Ｕ字型固定ウエイトの排除により１０％軽量化され、浮力とスナッグレス性能が共にＵＰ。懸念された飛距離はオリジナルには及ばないものの、ウエイトの位置を８mm後方にずらすことによって、最小限のロスに留めた。そして広範囲からバスを寄せ、見破られにくいアクションによって、最後まで追い続けてのピックアップ瞬間バイトを激増させた。
つまりスペック２はオリジナルと比較して若干の飛距離ダウンを代償に、カバーに対しタイトでナチュラルなスイミングによってプレッシャーのかかったバスをバイトに持ち込む、喰わせ系フラットサイドクランクである。
