サゲニティック sageniticとは、細長い結晶を含んでいる場合にそれらを総合的に呼ぶ言葉で、『サゲニティック・クォーツ Sageniticquartz』とか『サゲニティック・アゲート Sageniticagate』と呼んでいます。簡単に『サゲナイト Sagenite』と呼ぶ事もあります。
水晶は多くの種類の鉱物のインクルージョンを含むことで知られています。インクルージョンで多いのが、針状や繊維状など細長いタイプの結晶です。
もっとも知名度の高いのはルチルの様ですが、トルマリン、アクチノライト、トレモライト、そしてゲーサイトなどもあります。水晶中にあるそれらのインクルージョンの種類が確定できる場合には、『ルチルレイテッド・クォーツ Rutilelatedquartz』『トルマリネーテッド・クォーツ Tourmalinatedquartz』などと、その名前を冠して呼びます。
しかし通常ではその種類が確定できない場合もあり、それをサゲニティック・クォーツと総合して呼ぶのです。
日本ではそれらのものを、古くから『針入り水晶』と呼んでいます。色と見え方から『ススキ入り水晶（褐色のトルマリン入り）』、『草入り水晶（アクチノライトなど緑の結晶入り）』、『露入り水晶（針状結晶の先の方に微小な鉱物の粒が付いているもの）』などとイメージで呼ぶ事もあります。
