Sonny Clark（ソニー・クラーク）の『Cool Struttin’（クール・ストラッティン）』は、かつて日本で最も愛されたジャズ・アルバムの一つで、60～70年代のジャズ喫茶で人気を博しました。ジャズを聴いたことがない人でも一度は見たことがあるレコード・ジャケットだと思われます。グッド・デザインの宝庫、ブルーノート・レーベルのジャケットの中でも一二を争う傑作！
1958年にブルーノート・レーベルからリリースされた Sonny Clark（ソニー・クラーク）の初リーダー作。クラークは1963年に31歳の若さで夭折しましたが、ジャケットも含め、時代を超えたハードバップの名盤です。もちろんアルバム・ジャケットは、 ニューヨーク近代美術館（MoMA）殿堂入りのグラフィックデザイナー Reid Miles（リード・マイルス）がデザインを担当し、写真は Francis Wolff（フランシス・ウルフ）によるモノ。
パーソネルは、ピアノ：Sonny Clark（ソニー・クラーク）、アルト・サックス：Jackie McLean（ジャッキー・マクリーン）、トランペット：Art Farmer（アート・ファーマー）、ベース：Paul Chambers（ポール・チェンバース）、ドラムス：Philly Joe Jones（フィリー・ジョー・ジョーンズ）
