商品解説■──よりスピーディに、より快適に！785系スーパーホワイトアロー
【実車紹介】
函館本線札幌～旭川間の特急は主に781系が運用されていましたが、道央自動車道全通に伴う高速バスのスピードアップに対抗するため1990年9月ダイヤ改正で大幅な増発と一部列車の最高速度130Km/hへスピードアップを図りました。
その際に登場したのが785系「スーパーホワイトアロー」です。
軽量ステンレス車体、交流電車初のVVVFインバータ制御を採用しています。
基本4両、増結2両から構成され、きめ細かな運用を可能とするため先頭部は貫通型となっています。
その後、2002年より普通車指定席「uシート車」モハ784/785-500を増備して5両編成に組み替えました。
2005年よりリニューアル工事を行い外観が変化しています。
後継車789系の増備により数を減らしていますが2024年現在も一部車両が現役で活躍を続けています。

増結セット(A7222)クモハ785-102の前面には連結用AEカプラーを装着済で出荷
ヘッドライトは電球色で点灯
周辺の印刷をより実感的に変更
号車表示・車両番号などを再作成しより実感的に変更
