機関車EX イカロス出版登場以来地域的に偏在し、近年では貴重な国鉄型として人気を集めているEF64。今号の特集では、0 番代のあゆみを国鉄編としてお届けします。つづく第二特集は「令和を走る日本の電機 Number01」として、秩父鉄道のデキ100を紹介。1000t鉱石列車運行のテクニックを取材させていただきました。その他、国鉄技術者の回想ED72・73や各連載記事などもお楽しみください。秩父鉄道デキ100 1000t鉱石列車運行のテクニック「SLパレオエクスプレス」の運行で名高い秩父鉄道には13両もの電機が在籍。うち12両は編成重量1000tの鉱石列車に使用されています。今回はその運行テクニック、それを支える駅の業務にもスポットを当てて秩父鉄道の電機と貨物列車を多角的に紐解きます。写真/編集部北九州の電化のエースED72・ED73九州初の電化開業は鹿児島本線門司港~荒木間。そのときにつくられたのが旅客用ED72で、蒸気暖房装置を装備して2両の試作機が投入されました。その後は量産機、発展型として高速貨物列車用のED73も誕生。両機は新技術とともに鳩胸といわれた前面が特徴でした。写真/久保 敏国鉄電気機関車史 EF62・631959(昭和34)年から開発が開始されたEF62・63。これらの機関車の登場は、従前のアプト方式に代わり、横川~軽井沢間の66.7‰勾配において粘着運転を実現させました。今号の国鉄電気機関車史では、その製作経緯・特徴・メカニズムなどについて振り返ります。写真/市川邦男状態は概ね良好ですがあくまでも古本になりますのでご理解のあるかたのみご入札をお願い致します
