●昭和19年4月30日調製とある参謀本部が刊行した、米軍の編成や使用兵器の資料（概要）です。補遺（其二）とあるので、元に『米軍概覧』というのがあって、それに最新情報を追加改訂したものでしょう。発行当初は「軍事秘密」となっていましたが、半年後に「極秘（昭和19年11月8日参密第625号により取扱区分を極秘に変更）」とあります。●本冊子を作製した者によれば、ヨーロッパ戦線の情報はドイツから潜水艦で運ばれたもの、とのこと（「ドイツからの物資・書類などはインド洋で受け渡しされた」という話は戦記物で知られています……「秋水」や「橘花」の図面とともに来たのかもしれません）。
●体裁は、資料はＡ５判（148×210mm、本文白ページ含んで14頁、折込31図幅）ホチキス留め、くるみ表紙。図幅はオフセットですが、本文も書体は活字っぽいのですが文字に圧迫の痕跡がないようで同じオフセット印刷と思われます。
●敗戦の昭和20年８月、市ケ谷の参謀本部中庭での書類焼却から生き残った貴重なものです。
●紙ですので変色など化学的な経年劣化、折りたたみ個所の傷みはだいぶありますが、汚損、破れなどはほとんどありません。表１には三文判、表４には所有の個人名が記載されていますので、オークション用の写真ではマスクしました。
